Privacy policy

Marga Haus is the operating practice of Tanuj Ruhal, based in Melbourne, Australia. This policy covers margahaus.com and the ways you can contact us through it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

When you send the contact form, we receive what you type: your name, company, email address, your message, and the optional answers about where you are and whether you are raising. We use it to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to prepare for the call.

When you book a call, the booking is made through Calendly. Calendly collects your name, email address and the time you choose, and handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive the booking details so we can hold the slot and send you the meeting link.

When you subscribe to essays or resources, we keep your email address so we can send them. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

When you browse, the site records ordinary technical information: pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, and the page that referred you. With your consent through the cookie notice, we use analytics cookies to understand which pages are read. Declining leaves the site fully usable.

To reply to your message and hold your call. To send you the essays or resources you asked for. To understand, in aggregate, how the site is read so we can improve it. To meet legal obligations if they arise.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build profiles of you.

A small number of service providers process information on our behalf so the site can run: hosting and content delivery (Vercel, with servers in Sydney), the content system and database (Supabase, hosted in Sydney), transactional and newsletter email (Resend), scheduling (Calendly), and, if you consent, analytics. Each provider is bound to use the information only to provide its service to us. Some providers store data outside Australia; where they do, we rely on their contractual safeguards.

Contact messages and call bookings are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form only.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by emailing enquiries@margahaus.com. We will respond within 30 days. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies, and you can unsubscribe from any email with the link in its footer.

If you believe we have handled your information incorrectly, tell us first and we will try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
